Treating Allergies Naturally

Spring is here… flowers are beginning to bloom, trees are growing new leaves, and grass is getting green again!  It’s a time of rebirth and rejuvenation; however, this beautiful time of year is also a key time for seasonal allergies.

Acupuncture is a respected alternative treatment for many medical issues.  Many people don’t know that acupuncture can be helpful in alleviating symptoms and improving the quality of life for people who suffer from seasonal allergies.  The idea is that specific points that are stimulated during an acupuncture treatment will restore and circulate “defensive qi,” a type of energy that is linked to immunity. This in turn can help relieve allergic symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and itchy watery eyes.   Acupuncture has also proven to decrease inflammation, as is the case with allergic rhinitis.

If you or someone you know are seeking alternatives to conventional treatments such as medication and nasal sprays you should contact our office for more information or to set up an acupuncture visit.  The initial treatment of acupuncture for allergies  is usually weekly or twice weekly over several weeks or months.
